Teaching Procedures
Step1: greet the class as usual.
Step2: review the usage of the superlative of adjectives by some conversations between the teacher and the students.
Teacher: I’m sure you know some of your classmates well now.Let’s discuss who is the tallest/the thinnest/the most beautiful/the funniest or the quietest student in our class. You can also introduce yourself using your own words.
Step3: Ask the students to blurt out the superlative of the adjs on the big screen one by one,then summarize the spelling rules.
adjs:comfortable, big, late, cheap, close, friendly, popular, good, bad, far, many, easy, rich, heavy, lucky, talented, kind, outgoing, little and ect
· Add er or est to most words.
· Add r or st to wordsEnding in e
· drop y and add ier or iest
· double the final consonant and add er or est.
Step4:lead-in 3a
Step5:Read the article carefully by themselves and ask one student to fill in the chart that on the blackboard.,the others write them on the exercise books.

Step6:Read this article carefully and quickly again and answer the questions on the screen,
How did they learn( 了解到 )what youny people think about places in town?
How many places are mentioned( 被提到 ) about movie theater?What are they?
Which is the most popular clothing store in town?Why?
Does the Town Cinema have the friendliest service?
What do most people think of Jazz 107.9 FM?
(Check the answers and explain)
Step7:Read the article again and find out the key points or difficult sentences that you can’t understand and solve them by discussing with your group or partners.
Step8:Explain some knowledge points by students.For some points,the teacher can give a further explaining.

Step10:Retell the passage as fluently and loudly as possible according to the tips on the screen.
Step11:Write a composition using the superlative degrees of adjectives.Here are the tips:
