教学过程
Step 1Warming-up
1.Enjoy a play: Lao She Teahouse
2. Review the textof Unit 1.
3.Show some pictures.
4. Look at the pictures,and talk something about the pictures.
5.Introduce the new words.
6.Learn the new words.
7.Read the new words.
Step 2 Work inpairs.
1.Ask and answer questions about Lao She.
1)What do you know about Lao She?
2)What are his most famous books and plays?
3)What’s the special about Lao She Teahouse?
2.Tell the students about Lao She.
Lao She(1899-1966) was one of the most renowned contemporary Chinese writers, famousfor his novels and plays. His works have been translated into over 20 foreignlanguages.
Step 3 Reading
1. Play therecording and listen to the tape carefully.
2. Ask the students to read through thepassage.
3.Read the passage by themselves.
4. Read the text together.
5. Read the passage and match the headings with theparagraphs in Activity 2.
6.Check with a partner.
7.Call back the answers from the whole class.

Step 4 Complete the timeline.

Step8 Important and difficult points

name在这里是动词,表示命名name还有任命的意思。
例如:
Liliwas named as captain of our English studying team.
李丽被任命为我们英语学习小组的组长。
2.If you like the Beijing Opera, traditional music or magic shows, you can enjoythem at the teahouse.
如果你喜欢京剧、传统音乐或魔术表演,你可以在这家茶馆里欣赏到这些节目。
句中的them是代词,代指前半句中提到的Beijingopera, traditional music or magic shows,因为这些是复数,故用them
例如: Hasanyone seen his books? He can’t find them anywhere.
有人看见他的书了吗?
他到处都找不到。(them指前句提到books)如果前面提到的是单数,后面的代词则用it
例如:
Haveyou seen my cat? I can’t find it. 你见到我的猫了吗?我找不到它了。
it指前句提到cat,因为cat是单数,故用it。)

givea … welcome 意为“… …地欢迎
例如: Beijing gives a warmwelcome to people from all over the world.

Jimgave her a cold welcome. 吉姆对她冷淡。
